More roadwork followed, including appearances at many of North America's leading extreme metal festivals, and a tear CD with Despised Icon featuring uncommon demonstration material was released in June of 2006. That same calendar month, vocalist McCaughry proclaimed he was going away Ion Dissonance due to creative differences, and in the fall, the band disclosed that Kevin McCaughey, erstwhile of the group Shaolin, had signed on as their fresh isaac Merrit Singer, in fourth dimension to begin transcription on the group's adjacent album, Negative the Herd, which was released by Abacus in June 2007.
